So today me and my mom were supposed to go and see Micheal Moore's new film "Capitalism: A love story." So I looked up the times for our local movie theater, and it turns out it wasn't even going to be playing there! So we decided to go and see "The Informant!" instead. First of all, let me say I recommend that people go and see this, but you best pay CLOSE attention!
Okay so from here on this blog may contain spoilers,(So if you plan on seeing it, you might want to stop reading!) I don't know what I'm going to say about it yet because I'm still not entirely sure what movie I've just seen.
The Informant was a strange movie that tended to jump from place to place, but to someone who pays attention well, a very funny and somewhat clever film. Half way through the movie I had to stop and remind myself of what I was watching, but all in all, I thought it was good. Now I didn't realize until the end of the movie the REASON why it was so confusing. It turns out in the end pretty much everything he was saying was just all a big fat heap of lies. SO I guess I was supposed to be confused, but I tried to understand throughout the movie so my brain was trying to complete an impossible task. Throughout the movie they played music that sounded like it had been left over from the 70's because they didn't want it anymore. It set the mood in a strange and comedic way that almost made it funnier than any music could have. I think I am going to download the soundtrack just because and put it on my iPod and walk around like I know things. I think when this movie comes out on DVD I'm going to watch it about three times just so I can let it sink into my brain enough.
SOOO
Overall summery and thought this movie left me with:
*Confusion.
*Hilarity.
*More confusion.
*More Hilarity
*Matt Damon looks ridiculous with a mustache!!!
My advice to you if you go and see this movie: Pay attention and listen closely or forgo the whole paying attention part and put the "I'm smart!" act on to fool your friends into thinking that you know EXACTLY whats going in. And in the end say "I knew it the whole time!" Fuck with their minds.
Either that or see it once before them... and then see it again. Call out everything that happens. Like you're psychic!
3.5 out of 5 stars I.M.O.

Not everyone likes Chinese.
So.. here's the deal:
I was at lunch today with my mom, a Chinese food restaurant that we go to fairly often. Now the service there is always quite nice, and the food, top notch (In my opinion.) Anyways, we had only been there about.. oh say.. 20 minutes? And we notice a bit of a commotion in the booth behind us. My mom raises her eyebrows, cautiously looks around and sees that one of the waitresses was standing there and the wife of the family in said booth was trying to explain something to her. I listened and it sounded like the woman was displeased with something or other, and at first it seemed like your harmless "Oh, something is wrong with my [insert random food item here], can I have another?" Haha, not this time.
Me and my mom didn't quite get the whole story until the woman and her family had left. But believe me, by the time they did, I wanted to turn around and slap a hoe!
After they had left, the same waitress came to our table and upon seeing the confused looks we gave her, she explained thus:
It turns out that this particular family had been there on more than one occasion. Everytime they came, she would ask for ONE soda, I repeat ONE soda for her TWO children to share. Since there was only one soda, and two children, she ended up wanting refills more often. Now the very nice waitress who was just doing her job and trying to make in easier for them, thought, "Hey, maybe I'll bring out two glasses this time so the kids don't have to share and they will ask for less refills!"
So she does this, (and this is where we know the story from) and when the lady sees the two cups, I swear to god it was like something in her own little "what-I-think-is-perfect" world came crashing down and she lost it. She looks up at the nice little waitress like "OH No you diddenttt!" and this is what she says to her. "Excuse me? Why did you bring me two cups? I specifically asked for one!" and as the waitress tries to explain the lady cuts her off with this rediculous rant!
Woman: "So yeah, we don't NEED two cups because we're not FAT PEOPLE! And I only asked for one! You know what I bet you just want your extra $2! That's it ! You just did it to get the money! We'll I"m not paying for the extra one cause this is America and what I say goes... you're not from America you just work here and you are trying to rip me off! Cause you just want your $2! I'm never coming back here again with service like this!"
Waitress: -stunned silence- ((I imagine by now she's thinking, "Fine, go! Good riddance!" ))
Woman: -redundancy and repeated words, blah blah bullshit-
SO the waitress rings them up and they leave and I am sitting there FUMING about that idiot woman and how she could be so hard on a girl who's just trying to make your stupid life easier! I was so proud that the waitress just stood there and took it! I would have taken that woman down! ...and they probably would have fired me!
And anyways, it turns out that every time they came she always said "I'm never coming here again!" I bet that made them wish they stuck to their promises and never came back.
Oh well, I guess you can't please everyone.

Not my Boyfriend: A Poem
My love for you has in fact gone beyond silly labels and empty words.
To the point where you've gone to my head, hurts like a brain-freeze.
Sweet like a simple thought when you call my name and I hear your voice.
It's dreary, it's tragic. It's static, it's magic.
It's the best i've ever felt.
And hey, you're a boy, and you're my friend...
but you're not my boyfriend
and I love you, dammit!
Don't tell me...
How do you go on living when you know you are deceiving someone you love?
How do you know which feelings to trust?
Well, you don't. You just make a decision and stick with it no matter what.
Or, at least that's what you want to do...
In the end, a lie hurts you more than it hurts the one you are lying to.
You're the one that knows, you're the one that has to live with a monster inside you.
While your friends or family remain blissfully unaware.
We lie for many reasons, some of them good, some of them bad.
All I know is that I lie to protect the future.
And believe me, it kills me inside to this very day.

Whatever
Here in the swing of things, everything is relative.
What does that even mean when we really get down to it all?
I really wish I knew.
Life gives us so many gifts, and also many burdens...
so that most people are too preoccupied
to try to find the truth in it all.

Outside? Does it exsist?
Today is the day I realized: I need to get out more.
I don't go to school. I don't have a job. All I do is sit at home all day. Oh yeah, and I can't drive either. So I'm pretty much a prisoner in my own house.. and it is for this reason that I have decided to go with my friend to see "Julie&Julia" today.
Well, I said I would go with her because her little sister and her little sister's boyfriend are going with her. I figure it would be awkward for her to sit there and watch them snog in the theater. Blech. And heck, we might not even see the movie, we might just sit outside. But whatever we end up doing I'm happy I am going because I get to hang out with my best friend.
I really don't want to see this movie.. I'm not into "Chick flicks" normally...
I'm more of the Comedy/Fantasy/Mystery movies type person. Haha.
But it's an excuse to hang out with friends so what-the-heck! : )
Yay for outside!!!

Yetis have lives too! Sorta?
Bigfoot's "To-do" list. By Rose Rupe (me >w< )
1. Wake up entire valley with loud roar of a yawn which then causes a massive search to be conducted to once and for all prove that I exist. Silly clueless humans.
2. Take a brisk walk through the freshly fallen snow, taking care to leave lots of tracks for the a-fore mentioned "Silly Clueless Humans" to stare at in wonder and amazement.
3. Pay a visit to my neighbor Steve the snow hare. Hey, we Yetis have friends. Plus... He gets lonely sometimes.
4. Help Mrs. Yeti drop off he offspring at the underground Yeti daycare facility. Thank God for them. All day with five roaring youngsters is enough to make you want to destroy a small village.
5. Say goodbye to Mrs Yeti as she goes to her daily yoga class. Even monsters are in tune with their Chi.
6. Head to work and hope I miss morning traffic. It's easy to get stuck in it when you are as big as a house... literally.
7. Arrive at work and spend all day at my boring desk job. Whoever invented cubicles did NOT have Yetis in mind. Did you hear that cracking noise?
8. Finish up work and head home, once again hoping to miss getting stuck in traffic.
9. Sit down to dinner with the wife and kids. Hopefully we make it through without too much corruption. Last week Billy ate his sister instead of the meatloaf.
10. Put the kids to bed. (Aka: Tie them to stalagmites with ropes made from my back hair)
11. Cap off the day by watching the Aurora Borealis with Mrs. Bigfoot if she's up to it.
12. Wake up and repeat it all over again. Ah well, such is the life of a monster.

...Too much?
Today is the day that I realized... I think too much.
But about what? I mean pointless things really in the thick of it all.
Like, what should I wear today? if I wear it will I still look as ridiculous as I did
wearing it last week? What Am I doing today, how will it affect my coming week/weekend? Should I do this, should I do that? How come my ex is such an idiot? and Should I go and see Julie and Julia tomorrow with my best friend?
All questions that are really pointless when you think about it. But who deems what is pointless, and what is meaningful? Who gets to say what is vital and what gets lost forever? Well. You do.
I wrote a poem because well... I need to tell myself to stop thinking so much.
Title: The way of Thoughts
Like the feeling of a fast sinking ship lost out at sea.
Like the slow freezing of a glass of water as the ice permeates the surface and claims the water as it's prisoner.
I become lost to my thoughts.
Soon I won't exsist and the thoughts will float aimlessly within me
searching... waiting for someone to think them.
And all I will be is an empty shell.
I don't want to be the one on the sinking ship, thinking and worrying if I am going to live or die.
I want to be the one on the sandy beach, looking into the clear blue sky,
Watching as the ship sinks, and saying "Oh well."
